The Opportunity
Nutanix is looking for a Sr. Technical Marketing Engineer to support product marketing for Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure (NCI). NCI is a scale-out software infrastructure product that serves as the foundation for the Nutanix Cloud Platform. NCI is the pioneering Hyperconverged Infrastructure platform at the core of the Nutanix Cloud Platform, the hybrid multicloud platform that makes it simple for organizations to run all of their apps and data, anywhere.
This role will cover Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure, consisting of storage (AOS), virtualization (AHV), and networking (Flow). Specific focus will be on the core AOS (Acropolis Operating System) Storage components providing a distributed, hyperconverged infrastructure. This is the foundational technology of Nutanix that drives our modern, scalable, and highly resilient infrastructure platform.
In this role, you will be responsible for the technical marketing content for NCI and AOS including technical enablement, demos, content creation and promotion, sales enablement, and cross-functional collaboration with a seasoned team of virtualization and storage innovators. You will be a leading spokesperson for Nutanix evangelizing NCI Compute at events, webinars, and directly to customers at executive briefings and trade shows as well as internally for employee enablement.
About the Team
At Nutanix, you will be joining our Product and Solutions Technical Marketing Engineering team. With over 40 members spread across different geographical locations, our team thrives on a collaborative and inclusive culture that values diverse perspectives and ideas. You will report to our Director of Technical Marketing who leads technical marketing for Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure covering storage, virtualization, and networking.
There are some travel requirements associated with the role, including events related to NCI and occasionally participating in Executive Briefings. On average, you can expect to take 1-2 trips every quarter, allowing you to engage with clients, partners, and industry events to expand your network and contribute to the team's success.
Your Role
Subject Matter Expertise and Content Creation
Develop expertise about the product, the market, and related industry and competitor news and trends and be a knowledge resource for internal teams (including systems engineers, technical enablement, and other marketing teams).
Work closely with Product Management and Engineering to review and learn about new capabilities and provide technical feedback based on field experience.
Create and review content including technical blogs, best practices guides, reference architectures, diagrams, videos, tools, and more; as well as review NCI related content being created across the company to ensure technical accuracy, and alignment with product capabilities.
Maintain and contribute to the Nutanix Bible as the point of contact for technical capabilities and functions for Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure.
Contribute to promotion of the product through technical demos, diagrams, and videos used in internal and external facing assets.
Bring the technical and customer perspective to marketing materials to maximize impact of marketing activities.
Strategy and Messaging
Translate NCI technical capabilities into business value and outcome-based messaging for use in product marketing and enabling the technical field.
Contribute to messaging for NCI, including key value propositions, use cases, customer persona and pain points.
Help define key news moments around NCI capabilities and the value they bring to our customers; contribute technical expertise to these.
Participate in demand generation execution with multiple marketing and product teams (field marketing, partner marketing, campaigns, programs, events, digital).
What You Will Bring
5+ years experience in technical marketing or a similar role, in storage technologies with cloud native and datacenter infrastructure knowledge a plus.
Strong domain expertise in virtualization and storage products, as well as a deep understanding of traditional IT infrastructure.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or information systems (or equivalent experience).
Strong desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to think and work strategically, but also execute as an individual contributor.
Proven track record in supporting worldwide sales teams meet revenue goals.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong executive communications skills, and polished presentation abilities.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 156,000 and USD $ 310,800 per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
