Position Overview
The Production Control Coordinator will assist the Materials Manager in ensuring effective production planning, inventory control, and procurement processes. This role supports multiple supply chain functions, including Purchasing, Outside Services, Warehouse, and Traffic Management. You will be instrumental in managing supplier relationships, meeting customer demands, and improving production flow using Lean manufacturing tools.
Key Responsibilities
Support inventory and production goals while minimizing raw material, WIP, and finished goods
Plan and expedite outside processing to meet customer delivery expectations
Maintain and monitor outside processing inventory accuracy
Assist in managing production schedules and accurate shop floor data collection
Ensure the timely availability of parts and components to support production
Verify vendor quotes in coordination with Supply Chain and Quality
Support purchasing activities in line with corporate policies
Collaborate on transportation agreements and freight cost optimization
Assist in identifying production bottlenecks and capacity constraints
Provide coverage for planner/scheduler, shipping coordinator, and inventory clerk roles as needed
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 1 year of experience in production and/or materials planning and inventory control
Working knowledge of purchasing concepts
Strong analytical and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree or higher
Experience in the fastener industry
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement practices
