Job Description
The Iowa Department of Revenue's Alcohol &Tax Compliance Division is seeking anAdministrative Assistant 2to join our Alcohol Regulation team. The Compliance Division oversees all facets of tax processing, issuances of business permits, and alcohol regulation throughout the state. From the receipt of individual and business tax returns and payments, audits and collections, to routine compliance inspections and regulatory verification of alcohol-licensed establishments, this division is tasked with upholding, enforcing and educating taxpayers and licensees on Iowa's laws and regulations.
In this position you will complete the following duties:
Provide daily administrative support to the Bureau Chief of Alcohol Regulation.
Process citations from law enforcement for underage alcohol sales by licensed establishments.
Provide administrative support in the coordination of alcohol compliance initiatives; inspections, audits, and investigations.
Process requests for subpoenas during alcohol compliance investigations.
Lead the development of Alcohol Regulation Unit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Complete administrative support work as needed for the IDR Alcohol & Tobacco Underage Sales Enforcement Programs.
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
Current or previous professional experience conducting administrative tasks relating to alcohol compliance & regulation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience developing statistical reports that are shared publicly.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
Current or previous professional experience conducting administrative tasks relating to tobacco compliance & regulation.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in any field, and experience equal to one year of full-time administrative support (e.g., screening visitors and callers; opening/distributing mail, typing/proofing documents, letters, and reports; organizing files; scheduling meetings/appointments; arranging travel; processing travel claims; ordering supplies/equipment) or technical support work (e.g., determining budget, personnel, and equipment needs; compiling/evaluating statistical, historical, economic, business, financial or technical program data; interpreting or securing compliance with laws, rules and regulations; reviewing operating records/reports and evaluating their effectiveness).
A total of five years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one) where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to 12 months of full-time work as an Administrative Assistant 1.
