Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Downers Grove, Illinois. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial records through data entry, reconciliation, and administrative support. This position is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail, eager to contribute to a dynamic finance team.

Responsibilities:

Accurately review and process supplier invoices, ensuring compliance with payment and recordkeeping standards.

Enter high volumes of financial data into Microsoft Excel and internal systems with precision and attention to detail.

Collaborate with multiple platforms to verify, update, and maintain customer and vendor information.

Reconcile discrepancies between invoices, purchase orders, and deliveries to ensure accurate financial tracking.

Assist the accounting team in validating data, matching invoices, and tracking orders effectively.

Prepare financial reports, summaries, and documents utilizing Excel functions, formulas, and tables.

Conduct routine audits to verify the accuracy and completeness of entered data.

Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive financial information.

Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth workflow.

The salary range for this position is $18 to $21. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Business is a plus.

Previous experience in accounting support, data entry, or related administrative roles.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP or accounting software systems.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage numerical data accurately.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Familiarity with accounts payable and order management processes is preferred.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
