Job Description
Maintains inventory of materials, tools, appliances, and repair parts for division so that maintenance crews may have necessary supplies available for use. Tracks all inventory and orders as required and restocks as necessary. Receives, process, categorize, and organize all inventory.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain accurate inventory of building materials, appliances, a/c units repair parts, tools, and equipment
Place orders for material, supplies, tools, obtain quotes, through requisitions and regular and blanket purchase orders.
Meet with building maintenance supervisors to discuss current and future construction projects to ensure adequate material and supplies are available at all times and to make sure any surplus supplies are used.
Prepare and present monthly, biannual, and yearly material, appliance, and supplies use forecast to assist department in using resources efficiently
Maintain warehouse layout clean, organized, and up to City safety and fire code
Institute and manage an inventory management system software that can track the use and stocking of material, supplies, appliances, parts, tools and equipment
Ensure all power equipment and vehicles are well maintained and contract with service companies as needed.
Must organize new inventory items received daily.
Prepare and maintain schedules for each item requiring regular maintenance and service

Knowledge of:
Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods, including computers and applicable software (Inventory, MS Office, and AS400)
Knowledge of City procurement policies
Knowledge of accounts payable process and policies
Knowledge OSHA and warehouse safety guidelines
Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for the safe use and storge of chemicals.
Knowledge of inventory control procedures
Knowledge of construction material, power and hand tools, appliances, and parts.
Knowledge of accounts payable and procurement processes and policies
Knowledge on oils, fluids, and mixtures used for each piece of equipment, such as riding lawn mowers, weed eaters, or commercial blowers
Skills and Abilities:

Ability to obtain a forklift operator license within a reasonable amount of time
Ability to maintain warranty records for the maintenance of vehicles, forklift, equipment, appliances, and a/c systems.
Ability to maintain warehouse clean and organized at all times
Ability to encourage and make sure other employees follow warehouse organization and safety rules and protocols
Ability to understand and analyze expense budgets
Ability to prepare and present inventory expense and forecast reports to division manager.
Ability to understand the importance of the position and responsibility the job entails.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to maintain good planning and organizational skills.
