We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Zelienople, Pennsylvania. This is a contract position ideal for professionals with a strong background in financial reporting and analysis. The role offers the opportunity to manage critical accounting tasks while collaborating with a well-documented system for streamlined processes. The Staff Accountant position is onsite 5 days a week.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.

Perform monthly account reconciliations to maintain ledger accuracy.

Manage the month-end close process for assigned businesses, ensuring timely and compliant submission.

Analyze accounts to support financial reviews and reporting.

Generate and review sales and cash reports to monitor financial performance.

Assist with budget preparation and provide insights as needed.

Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless accounting operations during transitional periods.

Maintain and enhance documentation for accounting processes to support organizational consistency

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with month-end close activities for two of the company's three business units

Prepare and post journal entries

Conduct account reconciliations and account analysis for financial review

Generate sales and cash reporting

Support budget preparation (minimal)

Leverage pre-established templates and SOPs to maintain consistent reporting and analysis

Requirements - A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or financial management.

Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations and journal entries.

Demonstrated expertise in month-end close processes.

Strong analytical skills for account analysis and financial reporting.

Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting processes.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficiency in financial software and tools for reporting and reconciliation tasks.
