Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Flushing, New York. This is a Contract position where you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. If you have a strong background in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and analyze consolidated internal financial statements by compiling and reviewing relevant data.

Create detailed spreadsheet reports to evaluate financial information and support decision-making processes.

Record daily and monthly general ledger entries while maintaining organized records and reconciling accounts.

Oversee and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable sub-ledgers to ensure accuracy.

Manage the fixed asset ledger and generate reports for monthly depreciation and amortization.

Develop and post journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and contribute to month-end closing activities.

Assist in preparing and reviewing annual operating budgets to support organizational goals.

Ensure adherence to financial compliance standards and regulations.

Support external audits by preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries effectively. Requirements - Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

Strong experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger management.

Expertise in preparing journal entries and executing month-end close procedures.

Familiarity with financial software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP.

Ability to work with fixed asset ledgers and generate depreciation reports.

Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in creating spreadsheet-based reports.

Knowledge of accounting principles and compliance standards.

Previous experience assisting with external audits is preferred.
