Join one of Connecticut's largest healthcare organizations as a Medical Assistant in their Internal Medicine office. Responsibilities

Perform triage and rooming of patients.

Educate patients on medical procedures and health management.

Handle phone calls and manage electronic medical records.

Verify medications and conduct insurance verifications.

Check patients in and out, and schedule appointments.

Assist with prior authorizations and other administrative tasks.

Essential Skills

Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, CCMA, RMA).

At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant is highly preferred.

Effective communication skills.

Competency in basic medical assisting skills such as rooming patients and assisting providers with exams.

Working knowledge of medical terminology and Microsoft Office software.

Reliable transportation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Epic experience is preferred.

Phlebotomy skills are a plus.

Customer service and administrative skills.

Open to entry-level candidates with compassionate, empathetic, and personable qualities.

Work Environment

The work environment is a small, family/team-oriented setting, fast-paced, and sees numerous patients daily. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM, with only two Medical Assistants currently working, requiring a third to join the team.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
