Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified, motivated individual to join GDIT as a Systems Administrator Senior . As part of our deployment information technology team, you will assist in the standing up of the GO/CO CO/CO environments that will enable early product deployments that contribute to the projects Minimum Viable Product (MVP). You will be responsible for providing expertise in the formulation of systems' scopes, and database management of legacy and cloud-based systems. You will be required to carry out traditional System Administrator duties as well to include account creation and overall system health of our development environments. You will collaborate with GDIT technical leadership, Government customers, and other key stakeholders to assess our existing and new systems infrastructure.

Analyzes customer requirements and provides highly innovative technical expertise on cloud computing techniques, technologies, infrastructure, DevOps and related cloud architecture
Recognized Subject Matter Expert in systems analysis
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
May serve as a team or task lead
Work with project managers and developers to plan and implement database projects
Systems Administrator Senior Advisor Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers in the Azure Government cloud
Handle system configuration, patch management, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and security of all VMs and services
Administer user and service accounts for cleared personnel
Manage access permissions according to the least privilege principles
Integrate systems with Azure Active Directory or on-prem AD for centralized identity management and multi-factor authentication
Perform regular system updates and security patches
Validate that all system changes meet compliance requirements (applying DISA STIGs or hardening guidelines to each server)
Utilize automation tools like Ansible or PowerShell scripts to streamline repetitive admin tasks (provisioning new servers, configuring roles/features, or backing up system configurations)
Monitor system performance, CPU, memory, disk usage and event logs via Azure Monitor or custom scripts
Respond to alerts and conduct root cause analysis for any downtime or performance degradation
Maintain data backups and recovery procedures for critical systems
Periodically test restore processes to ensure COOP and disaster recovery objectives can be met
Evaluate and recommend available database management system (DBMS) products
Address all vulnerabilities identified via system scanning
Systems Administrator Senior Advisor Requirements and Qualifications
Master's degree in computer science or relevant field; or equivalent professional experience is preferred
Experience using Azure Active Directory
Experience using Azure Monitor
Advanced knowledge using Ansible or PowerShell scripts
Extensive experience in database architecture, design, and processing models.
Extensive experience with data architecture, modeling, and management in a broad spectrum of data repository environments, such as data warehouse, on-line transaction processing and hybrid
Knowledge and experience working with data migration from different database systems to updated modern systems

Required Technical Skills:
Senior Level system administrator skills required
Current and practical experience using Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, SQL*Plus, SQL Developer, MSSQL
Strong HTML, CSS, AJAX, and JSON experience
RDBMS modeling, Data Integrity, SQL Developer/TOAD
DoD 8570.01M requirements for IAT Level II
Other work-depending certifications may be required

Certification: Security Travel Required : Little to no travel anticipated (may be required upon customer request)
Location: Hybrid / On-site as required for classified work at Washington D.C. customer location

The likely salary range for this position is $128,666 - $174,078. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
