Summary:
The Global Supply Chain Operations (GSCO) group is responsible for teaming with our supply chain partners to build, deliver, and enable Meta's AI, Compute and Storage infrastructure. Meta's computing foundation is its Data Centers, and key strategic partnerships with Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) and OEMs are a crucial piece in building and operationalizing this infrastructure. The focus of the Operations Engineering and Inventory (OEI) team is operational optimization for all of Meta's infrastructure (Servers, Data Centers, Network) supply chain. The team will focus on optimizing supply chain operations at variance altitudes to balance delivery, flexibility, supply competence, and cost, from base components through manufacturing to finished goods, in an environment of continual product introduction, directly managing billions of investment annually. OEI will do this primarily by building software and mathematical optimization models, and automated tracking of key performance metrics to drive desired strategic and operational outcomes. The team is uniquely positioned to develop and optimize our infrastructure supply chain operations at the most strategic levels with company level impact. This role is very cross-functional and provides an opportunity to work with our supply chain partners and a variety of engineering and business teams to power the rapid growth of Meta's products. This role will help to ensure optimal deployment and operation of our infrastructure from both a cost and technology perspective, with millions of servers, gigawatts of data center capacity, and cutting edge technology including advanced AI. Put simply: The OEI team is composed of problem solvers who build relationships both within- and beyond- Meta to achieve industry-leading performance and pave the way for Meta's AI-enabled infrastructure. This role presents an opportunity to lead and manage the Operations Engineering and Inventory team, responsible for supporting smooth end-to-end global manufacturing and supply chain operations.
Required Skills:
Manager, Operations Engineering and Inventory Responsibilities:
Manage the Operations Engineering and Inventory team to support end-to-end global fulfillment operations of outsourced manufacturing of compute & storage hardware - material management, inventory operations, delivery operations, reverse logistics operations
Manage a team of operations engineers to develop and implement data-driven solutions - stochastic models, optimization algorithms - to improve supply chain visibility, agility, and responsiveness. Continuously monitor and refine optimization solutions to ensure they remain effective and aligned with changing business needs
Develop and implement data-driven solutions to improve decision-making, reduce uncertainty, and increase confidence in capacity delivery business outcomes across bring-up, validation, launch and deployment of hardware systems
Collaborate with product quality engineering teams to design and implement automation solutions that improve manufacturing process reliability and reduce variability
Develop supplier process improvement plans to improve manufacturing scale and time to deployment in partnership with quality engineering, hardware engineering and commercial sourcing
Champion operations point of view, and influence decisions on business awards, build priorities, capacity allocation, new technology adoption and pricing variance
Maintain current knowledge of the technology and industry trends for hardware, especially in AI. Work cross functionally to define operations directions with outsourced manufacturing suppliers and system integrators
Rapidly synthesize and communicate findings to executive teams and proactively identify and resolve potential supply and operations issues that can affect product strategy
Handle global supply chain or live data center disruptions in real time with the support of international teams on site if needed and on short notice
Partner with other Meta orgs to represent Meta at industry events and forums
