Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Receivable Specialist (also known as AR Accounting Specialist) to support the end-to-end AR cycle, with responsibilities spanning both backend and customer-facing processes. This role will be instrumental in ensuring accurate and timely execution of key functions such as invoicing, cash application, and account reconciliation, while contributing to the integrity of financial data across integrated systems. In coordination with AR leadership, this position may also assist with collections activities as needed. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in transactional AR workflows, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a strong commitment to accuracy and operational efficiency. This full-time position will report to the Manager, Accounts Receivable at our Liberty Packaging location in Golden Valley, Minnesota. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Generate and issue accurate customer invoices in accordance with contractual terms and billing schedules. Review and validate billing data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal policies. Accurately apply incoming customer payments (checks, ACH, wire, credit card) to open invoices in the ERP system. Perform daily cash posting and bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and balanced. Monitor unapplied cash and resolve discrepancies through coordination with internal teams and customers. Assist in month-end close by preparing AR reports, reconciliations, and other tasks as needed. Maintain accurate customer account records and support data cleanup initiatives as needed. Provide support to the collections team when required, though primary focus remains on AR processing. Generate bi-monthly customer statements and ensure electronic delivery. Respond to customer requests and provide any missing invoices and proof of deliveries. Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and other cross functional teams to resolveinvoicing issues or adjustments. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for AR workflows and automation opportunities. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable, with a strong emphasis on invoicing and cash application. High school diploma or equivalent. Proficiency in ERP and accounting systems Strong Microsoft Excel skills. High degree of attention to numerical detail. Demonstrated ability to process high volumes of transactions accurately. Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration across internal departments. Demonstrated ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies independently and efficiently. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience with Amtech ERP and business intelligence (BI) tools. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS The starting pay range for this position is $24.11-$30.14 per hour. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.
