Position Summary:
Responsibilities: Essential Duties
Core Oracle DBA Responsibilities
Administer and support Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c) on Windows and Linux platforms.
Manage both Oracle Enterprise and Standard Editions, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and compliance.
Implement and maintain Oracle GoldenGate for real-time data replication, high availability, and zero-downtime migrations.
Design and execute backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Pump; ensure data integrity and business continuity.
Develop and test Disaster Recovery (DR) plans, including regular failover simulations and documentation.
Provide 24/7 operational support for production and non-production environments, including on-call rotation.
Perform database patching, upgrades, and security hardening in accordance with organizational policies.
Monitor and tune performance using AWR, ASH, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
Cross-Platform Database Support
Administer Microsoft SQL Server databases, including backup/restore, performance tuning, and high availability (e.g., Always On, Log Shipping).
Support PostgreSQL environments, including replication, backup strategies, and performance optimization.
Migrate data between Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL using tools like GoldenGate, AWS DMS, or custom ETL pipelines.
Cloud and Automation
Manage databases in cloud environments such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS RDS, and Azure SQL.
Automate routine tasks using shell scripting, PL/SQL, T-SQL, and job schedulers (e.g., Cron, SQL Agent).
Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for database provisioning using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
Support containerized database deployments using Docker and Kubernetes, including persistent storage and StatefulSets.
Familiarity with Oracle Kubernetes Operator and Helm charts for managing Oracle DB in Kubernetes clusters.
Collaboration and Documentation
Work closely with application developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to support deployments, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.
Maintain detailed documentation for configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions.
Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and audit requirements.

Monitor activities of and coordinates activities with service providers, partners and vendors for installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
Assist Business colleagues in creation of training documentation and knowledge transfer.
Interacts with local and global colleagues to ensure solutions follow strategic path goals and objectives.
Prepare project status reports to inform management to project progression. Identifies any issues which need to be escalated for resolution or assistance.
Adhere to system validation plans as required to meet corporate business needs and support the company's GxP validation requirements.
Apply technical expertise to the implementation, monitoring, or maintenance of IT systems.
Involvement in the planning, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and management of technology solutions.
Establish a technical vision for complex, enterprise IT infrastructure.
Interact with IT colleagues and Business stakeholders in problem solving, defining requirements, capacity, and implementing robust, scalable, effective and efficient technology solutions for solving business problems.

Perform system analysis which includes completing requirement definitions, interfacing with business groups and provide cost and benefit analysis.
Review, plan, and implement computer systems. Troubleshoot systems and recommend improvements to the computing environment.
Provide documentation and project tracking. Serves as a project leader on assigned projects.
Participate in new technology evaluations related to information. Identify alternative or new technologies and assist in defining new global and regional IT standards.
Assist Systems Analysts, Network Administrators and the helpdesk, desk-side support group with technical support issues.
