Medical Lab Scientist I - Special Chemistry Department (Evening Shift)

Location: (Insert Location)

Shifts Available:

Mon-Fri, 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM (Rotational Weekends)

Sun-Thu, 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM

Shift Differential:10% Evening | 15% Weekend

Position Summary

We are seeking a Medical Lab Scientist I to join our Special Chemistry Department on the Evening Shift. This role is essential in performing high-complexity testing and ensuring accurate and timely results for patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Perform sample extraction using manual pipetting, Tecan, and Hamilton automation.

Conduct manual data review of calibrations, QC, and chromatography.

Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures (HPLC, GCMS, LCMS).

Review and release test results with accuracy and efficiency.

Maintain compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and internal safety protocols.

Document and maintain records for specimen handling, testing, and proficiency testing.

Identify and troubleshoot issues affecting test performance, escalating when necessary.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Chemistrywith25+ Chemistry credits, including analytical and instrumental courses (CLIA requirement for CA).

1+ year of clinical lab experience preferred.

Experience in HPLC, GCMS, LCMS, or background in research, pharmaceuticals, or toxicology is a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62000.00 - $70720.00/yr.
