Summary:
The Operations Manager will utilize leadership, coaching, and organizational skills to drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost initiatives across multiple factories. This role will be responsible for maintaining the company's current strengths while focusing on building towards the future. In addition, this role will create a positive work environment through problem resolution, continuous improvement, and rigorous management of shop floor activities. Employee will improve our scheduling/delivery infrastructure, assist in capital planning, and develop daily and weekly business metrics while ensuring current operational plans are executed.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Drives a culture of safety first through management of policies and procedures in facility
Responsible for overseeing, motivating, coaching and leading a variety of operations including tool sharpening, machining, and heat treatment in the day-to-day production activities
Responsible for direct management of a team consisting of 7+ hourly production employees
Drive core shop floor performance in areas of safety, quality, delivery, and cost
Will develop and sustain continuous improvement process
Partner with Continuous Improvement leaders in planning/developing/optimizing factory layout
Leverage ERP to ensure orders are started and completed on time
Work with purchasing and sales to ensure strict adherence to scheduling of repair die and roller assembly orders, inter-factory orders, and aftermarket parts
Interacts with team members daily and acts as a front line supervisor in resolving issues, coaching, and counseling, maintain efficient and orderly workflow and a safe working environment
Will select, train, assign, schedule and lead employees
Implement relevant facility improvement processes (preventative maintenance program, 5S lean where applicable, etc.)
Run critical parts shortage reports and take action on critical shortages
Ensure org structure provides capability to meet business objectives
Conduct root cause analysis and perform corrective actions
Strong understanding of inventory control and cycle count management
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Position requires 5+ years of manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, or other relevant industrial experience in a leadership role
Previous experience directly managing a business segment of employees
Strong coaching and leadership skills
Proven ability to mediate conflict
Demonstrated ability to motivate individuals towards team goals
Effective organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
Desire to learn all facets of a complex manufacturing and assembly environment
High standard to drive results through relationship and culture building
Dependability, attention to detail, and the ability to follow and interpret procedures
Able to successfully multitask and meet project milestones
Able to proactively communicate with multiple customers on multiple projects
Experience with shop floor safety procedures
