POSITION SUMMARY:
Material Handler / Truck Driver Role will be based at our Lakeville, CT manufacturing plant, however, this role will require short-distance material handling of raw materials and finished goods between Lakeville, CT and Millerton, NY. As a key member to the Production Team, this role has two (2) principal functions: one (1) Material Handler and two (2) Truck Driver. This position is responsible for providing organizing and maintain stock of the material / product for molding and assembly, as well as safely transporting, loading and unloading product.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: may include some of the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Material Handler:
Maintain a proper flow of material to area of responsibility so that operation does not cease for lack of supplies.
Ensure product is stored and utilized in FIFO manner.
Move material via forklift, wrap and label finished product.
Document lot control when assigned.
Removes any old labels from gaylords, boxes and totes.
Maintain proper rotation of raw material/components and card board boxes
Daily Inventory counts as assigned by Production Manager/Purchasing Manager
Assist in relieving machine operators from presses, when needed.
Distribute delivery packages to the addressee
Maintain the cleanliness of the production floor.
Truck Driver:
Safely load and unload all equipment / materials, and properly secure all loads while obeying highway traffic regulations.
Deliver equipment / materials in a timely manner as not to delay production on job sites.
Ensure that product is stored and transported in a timely, efficient and chronologically manner.
Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area, maintaining the security of the warehouse and complying with OSHA and MSDS Standards.
Make trips to Outsource Vendors and Suppliers as needed.
Along with any other tasks that are assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED
Must possess a valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
Must possess a valid Forklift Certification. (Will certify if needed)
1 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
Basic understanding of a machine operator and plastic injection molding.
Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
Ability to pay close attention to detail.
Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Individual must have ability to reach with arms extended and/or overhead, excellent, hand
dexterity, ability to bend, stoop, stretch, and similar activities.
Ability and willingness to work overtime to meet customer needs and production schedules.
Employee must able to frequently lift and or move up to 65 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time.
Compensation Information:
$22.00
