LOCATION: Meridian Administration Office

DESCRIPTION: Full-Time Secondary English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher

DATE AVAILIABLE: 8/11/2025

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma, or equivalent with a minimum of two years previous school office experience preferred.

RATE OF PAY: Starting at $15.36 per hour per new MOPA contract.

DEADLINE TO APPLY: June 30, 2025 or UNTIL FILLED

SUMMARY: Serves as confidential administrative assistant to the Special Education Director and as a facilitator for the Special Education students and families being served. Assists Special Education Director by performing office support duties.

REPORTS TO: Special Education Director

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

Maintain discretion and loyalty with confidential information.

Serves as confidential administrative assistant to the Special Education Director.

Ability to work with a large, diversified population of students and staff.

Demonstrates the ability to work without direct supervision.

Provide well-organized and accurate work.

Act as a primary liaison between Special Education Director, administration, faculty, and school community.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Special Education Director.

Office Organization:

Manages multiple projects with ease and accuracy, meeting short and long-term deadlines.

Takes initiative in locating useful information relevant to on-going projects or program needs.

Schedules IEP's for the Special Education Director and takes initiative to provide reminders to help manage Special Education Director's schedule with regard to meetings, phone calls, appointments, etc.

Types, prepares, distributes, and files confidential Special Education records/reports to all necessary parties.

Reviews Special Education Director's mail; brings attention to important pieces of mail.

Assists the Special Education Director in the coordination of office support work for the Special Education department.

Special Education Office and classroom supply purchasing.

Maintains Special Education school records and files for buildings and Special Education Director.

Takes initiative in proofreading all copies before it leaves the office.

Communication:

Good listener using a calming mannerism when individuals are angry or a stressful situation is present.

Works in a collaborative fashion with staff, other district departments, parents, and community members.

Makes and receives telephone calls, takes messages, routes calls (including Special Education Director's forwarded calls)

Use language correctly, effectively, and respectfully.

Set the invitational tone of the school through presence and tone.

Demonstrate an openness to discuss suggestions.

Student Data -- Information in Skyward and Illuminate:

Identify IEP information and special circumstances in both systems.

Responsible for accurate student information and the timely reporting of student Special Education information for Count, including overseeing and understanding all parts of the Special Education process of gathering and verifying the accuracy of Worksheet B's and Count summary information forms that are submitted to the District Secretary.

Other support as needed.
