Sustain and improve existing manufacturing processes for Harris pontoon boats. Support new product introductions and influence designs to improve manufacturability.

Provide production support to the manufacturing team. Assist with evaluating and resolving safety, quality, delivery, and productivity issues
Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standard
Lead continuous improvement initiatives
Develop innovative solutions
Identify, design and implement new fixtures and tools to improve quality, reduce scrap, and improve throughput
Analyze throughput of production lines and implement improvements using time studies, line balancing, and other lean manufacturing methods
Participate in the new product development (NPD) process to ensure the product design incorporates design for manufacturability (DFM)
Participate in manufacturing readiness activities in preparation for new product introduction (NPI)
Create and maintain process documentation including work instructions and labor standards for various manufacturing areas
Help support and improve plant safety and ergonomic programs
Create, maintain and improve plant floor and manufacturing area layout drawings
Identify and participate in capital projects including cost justification, procurement, project management, and implementation
Act as a liaison between manufacturing, product engineering and other departments
Communicate effectively to management, peers, operators, and conduct training as needed
Ensure projects are completed on time
Perform other duties as assigned
Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.
5+ years maintenance technician experience in a manufacturing environment required
Trade/Vocational education preferred but not required
Must possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Must have working knowledge of electricity, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical functions
Experience with controls and robotics is a plus
Must be a self-starter and be detail oriented
Should have good PC based computer skills
Able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all functional areas in the facility
Flexibility for overtime, including some weekends, as needed (often tied to production schedule)
Education Requirements -
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Manufacturing Engineering required. Other 4-year engineering degrees will be considered.
2+ years' experience in a technical role supporting the assembly of a mechanical product
Experience justifying and leading capital equipment projects desired
3D CAD experience required. SolidWorks preferred
Strong computer skills including MS-Office (specifically strong Excel skills)
Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well under pressure
Demonstrated problem solving, innovation, team participation, and self-motivation
Preferred Qualifications:
CNC router programming experience
Powder coat process knowledge
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles with a proven track record of success
Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or ability to obtain certification
Familiarity with lean six sigma tools such as DMAIC, 5-Why, 8-D, and 5S
Experience participating in Kaizen events
Knowledge of PFMEA
Physical Requirements - Frequent standing and lifting of heavy objects weighing 50 to 100 pounds. Frequent walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, squatting, kneeling, stair climbing, and using fine hand movements such as tightening screws, bolts, and securing pins. Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Environmental demands include working both indoors and outdoors and is seasonally exposed to extreme temperatures.
Travel Requirements - 0% - 5%
The anticipated pay range for this position is $69,000 - $99,700 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate's qualifications and the business @context.
