Description

Robert Half's client is a well-established manufacturing company located in San Mateo. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional looking to grow their accounting career within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Perform accurate and timely journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring proper coding and timely payments/collections.

Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.

Support the month-end and year-end close processes.

Prepare and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential issues.

Assist with tax compliance activities, including preparation of various tax forms and schedules.

Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company policies.

Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.

Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and address accounting-related inquiries.

Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.

Participate in internal and external audits.

Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned to support the finance department.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

4 years of progressive accounting experience

Solid understanding of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.

Proficiency in QuickBooks or NetSuite and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs are a plus).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

High level of integrity and confidentiality.
