Summary You will serve as a DATA SCIENTIST in the ADVANCED SIMULATION DIVISION of NAWCTSD ORLANDO. Responsibilities You will focus on solving challenging real-world problems through the research, development, and application of advanced data analysis, data engineering, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. You will apply advanced data science concepts to identify patterns and relationships in large data sets, deriving correlations between operational, engineering, and human performance factors. You will develop comprehensive training programs that enhance the team's technical capabilities, focusing on both individual skill development and collaborative problem-solving techniques. You will conduct complex mathematical, statistical, engineering modeling, or other data-driven analysis to address training and readiness problems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DP-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Utilizing a combination of data science and software development expertise to create advanced software-based data analysis and visualization tools; 2) Developing predictive models using advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques; 3) Leveraging qualitative and quantitative analytical methods to assess team performance, identify potential improvements, and proactively engage with management to support team member professional development and organizational goals; 4) Leading the planning and execution of basic, applied, and advanced data-driven technology research and development projects. Education Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. OR Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
