As a Director, Process Optimization within our newly established Process Innovation team, you will play a key role in identifying, analyzing, and driving improvements across critical business processes. You'll partner closely with cross-functional teams to uncover opportunities within current business processes, recommend AI and other technology-enabled solutions, and support the execution of transformation initiatives to enhance productivity. In this role, you will have the opportunity to help create a new capability and function at the company and will be working closely with the Technology team to determine what capabilities can be created, liaise with the business to help ensure adoption, enabling teams to work on more value-add projects.
This team will be taking a strategic approach that involves fundamentally rethinking and redesigning core business processes to achieve significant improvements in performance, efficiency, and overall business effectiveness. It aims to optimize end-to-end processes, eliminate redundancies, and improve key metrics like cost, quality, service, and speed. In this role, you will not only drive to solutions but also help ensure the organization adopts and adapts to the new way of working.

Your Responsibilities
Business Process Consulting
Establish and maintain an intake process for business processes to re-engineer using technology
Lead or support end-to-end business process analysis, working with stakeholders to map current workflows, identify inefficiencies, and uncover opportunities for optimization or automation.
Facilitate discovery sessions to gather insights on pain points, performance gaps, and unmet needs within existing processes.
Design future-state process models aligned with business objectives, and operational goals.
Develop and present actionable recommendations backed by data and best practices in process improvement.
Partner with functional teams to implement and monitor process changes, ensuring sustained improvement over time.
Creating opportunity assessments, identifying bottlenecks, and documenting potential improvement solutions.
Ask critical questions to the business owners to fully understand the needs and to not disrupt the business.
Technology Partnership
Meet regularly with Technology on potential improvement solutions.
Communicate effectively what the business needs are and be able to work with the Technology teams to determine what capabilities are possible
Translate business requirements into user stories that can guide system enhancements, automation, or tool selection
Participate in solution design sessions to ensure proposed technologies or AI solutions meet operational needs and deliver measurable value
Help bridge communication between non-technical business users and technical teams to drive shared understanding and outcomes.
Change Management Support
Support change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes and technologies, including stakeholder communications, training support and readiness assessments
Act as liaison between project teams and end users to gather feedback, address resistance, and promote engagement throughout the change life cycle
Develop and execute communication plans, process documentation, and onboarding materials in partnership with key stakeholders.
Monitor adoption metrics and gather qualitative feedback to adjust strategies and reinforce sustainable behavior change
Leadership / Coaching
Develop direct report, providing regular feedback for growth
Review the reporting deliverables of direct report to ensure accuracy and alignment
Foster a collaborative, positive working environment
Your Work Location
As our Director, Process Optimization, you will be based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art worldwide corporate headquarters in North Bethesda, MD. Less than 15 miles from Washington, DC, we're located one block away from the North Bethesda Metro station, with service on the Red Line and the MARC Brunswick line, easy access to I-270, and plenty of free parking provided by Choice Hotels.
Your Salary
The salary range for this position is $139,604-$175,479 annually. In addition to the annual salary, this role is eligible for an annual bonus based on the terms of Choice's Management Incentive Plan (MIP).
The pay range listed is for this position and is what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
