What is the State Land Board?
The Colorado State Board of Land Commissioners manages Colorado's state trust assets. The agency's mission is to earn reasonable and consistent income over time by managing the assets in a manner that preserves the long-term productivity and value of the land, minerals and improvements.
This position is within the Asset Management Section which is responsible for planning and managing all of the revenue-generating activities of the Agency in a manner that preserves the long-term productivity and value of state land held in trust and improvements made to the land.
Description of Job

This position in STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO is within the Asset Management Section of the Colorado State Land Board and serves as the administrative lead in the District Office and provides administrative support to the District staff. The position is the first point of contact for members of the public and agency customers who contact the office. The District Assistant is responsible for the accurate and timely completion and processing of documents and information; record keeping and maintenance; document production; screening applications to determine eligibility for various programs; gathering, coding, entering and verifying data; and managing the inventory of supplies.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, acting as the first point of interaction with members of the public and SLB customers that contact the district office; tracking expired leases; reviewing lease and permit applications to ensure completeness; managing physical and digital records associated with leases; managing data entry into the agency's asset management systems; verifying that lessee insurance requirements are in order; creating lease documents from templates; assisting the District Manager with holding sealed bid and step auctions; researching databases to obtain current information and history on land parcels; and assisting in preparing maps and exhibits.
Other duties include providing local support to all program managers including real estate, resource extraction, renewable energy, recreation, water and ecosystem services; assisting the District Manager with preparation of asset and property management plans; managing applications associated with local implementation of programs; and performing other duties as assigned.

Experience Only:
Three (3) years of relevant experience in general clerical and customer service experience, with at least two (2) years reviewing, completing and processing documents.
OR -
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to three (3) years experience as listed above.
Acceptable degrees include Technical college, Associates (substitutes for 2 years of experience) Bachelor's (substitutes for 4 years of experience) and/or Master's (substitutes for 2 years' experience) degrees in subjects related to the work described.
