Duties Description The State University of New York at Old Westbury's School of Business provides access and support to empower our students with the knowledge, skills, and values to think critically, communicate effectively, and act responsibly. We have 25 full-time faculty in our programs for Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, and Marketing. Learn more about us by visiting https://www.oldwestbury.edu/school-businessThe AACSB accredited SUNY Old Westbury School of Business invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Marketing to serve the undergraduate and graduate business programs beginning Fall 2026. The successful candidate will exhibit strong evidence of their potential for teaching excellence, quality research publications, and meaningful service contributions.Faculty at the School of Business are responsible for a typical teaching load of three courses per semester (or a course load equivalent to 12 credits). We are seeking ABD and pre-tenure applicants with teaching ability in emerging areas of Marketing, such as digital or social media marketing, marketing technologies, user experiences (UX), and/or marketing analytics. Scholarly research need not focus in these areas; however, the ideal candidate will exhibit a track record or evidence of strong potential for publishing in reputable journal outlets with marketing relevance. SUNY OW and the School of Business supports professional development with annual funding for research or conference attendance. Applicants must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and possess the ability to teach, advise, and relate to our diverse student population.
Minimum Qualifications Required Qualifications:Ph.D. in Marketing or related area from an AACSB-accredited institution; ABD candidates with degree completion by September 2026 will be considered.A commitment to teaching excellence and strong ability to successfully deliver marketing courses among undergraduate and graduate students.A commitment to AACSB Scholarly Academic status and strong likelihood to publish in peer-reviewed journals of rank B or better on the ABDC list.Commitment to effectively working with a diverse population of students and colleagues.Preferred Qualifications:History or evidence of strong potential to develop curriculum in emerging areas of marketing (e.g., digital or social media marketing, marketing technologies, user experiences (UX), and/or marketing analytics).History or evidence of strong potential to publish scholarly work in ABDC journals at the rank of A or A*.Pedagogy that emphasizes an entrepreneurial mindset.Experience with online and hybrid teaching modalities.Experience with student service related to advising, mentorship, or communities of learning.Work experience relevant for teaching, research, and service.
