Summary The primary purpose of this position is As an Air Reserve Technician (ART) accomplishes a variety of work which determines the unit's readiness and capability to meet its wartime mission and provide training to assigned unit personnel in the accomplishment of contingency and humanitarian missions and worldwide deployment activities. Responsibilities Unit resource advisor (RA) and member of the Financial Working Group (FWG) for budget formulation. Evaluate and oversee the wartime AFSC enlisted specialty training requirements for assigned personnel. Coordinate with functional area managers and reserve Unit Training and Education Manager to ensure specialty training is in accordance with directives and is efficiently executed. Review, analyze and interpret compiled real time data for accuracy to assist with preparation of the Status of Resources and Training Systems (SORTS) report. Maintain interface with multiple major software information management systems that aeromedical evacuation uses. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Air Reserve Technicians are part of the regular civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain active membership in an Air Force Reserve unit so long as they occupy Air Reserve Technician positions. As members of reserve units, ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month. In addition, they are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay.
