Manufacturing Engineer - Hanover Park, IL
Position Summary:
Pentair is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to evaluate, develop and improve manufacturing methods. In this role, the Manufacturing Engineer will utilize project management skills to implement new operational processes and equipment to assist the business unit in meeting its strategic goals. The Manufacturing Engineer will participate in and support kaizen events, Lean work cell design, standard product design revisions, cost improvement projects, capital expenditure projects and supply chain initiatives. Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides technical support for plant operations. Attend to issues in the assembly line and assure that the operation goes on without any hindrance. Continuous flow of the assembly process.
Make the assembly process simpler and ergonomic. Implement lean-manufacturing techniques. Participate in Kaizen events.
Provide guidance to operators, cell leads, and Production Manager regarding projects, process improvements and issues with the line.
Support production by providing fixturing and tooling, conducting time studies, and troubleshooting quality and process issues.
Identifies causes and develops strategies for eliminating re-occurring downtime.
Able to source vendors, define SOW's, manage contract deliverables when outside sources for are used.
Monitors process, including new equipment and tools, to ensure performance to specifications. Implements capital and non-capital projects.
Works with plant quality control and manufacturing personnel to ensure process and equipment is capable of producing product that meets quality and engineering standards.
Reviews new and modified specifications for proper content and schedules their introduction into the manufacturing system.
Applies statistical methods and data driven problem solving to supply capable equipment, tools, materials and processes to manufacturing.
Continually monitor, analyze, and resolve process problems. Document all proposals for improved efficiencies and make adjustments as required. Responsible for start-up, set-up, and validation of new tools and equipment, and for conducting trials, including documentation.
Assists with assuring tools, equipment, and processes comply with OSHA standards
Participate in the advanced product quality planning FMEA activities for the development of the control plan.

Skills and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering; Mechanical or Electrical preferred
3+ years of experience in manufacturing supporting both processes and procedures; 5 years preferred
LEAN manufacturing experience preferred
Understanding of Project/Program Management Methodologies and utilizing resources to drive bottom line results
Basic working knowledge of PLC programming and ladder logic.
Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and servo motion control.
Experience in sonic and spin welding.
Experience in robotics programming, troubleshooting, and diagnostics preferred. (Fanuc preferred).
MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) and JDE
Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other related programs
