As a Senior Director of eSoftware Engineering, you lead multiple technical areas, manage the activities of multiple departments, and collaborate across technical domains. Your expertise is applied cross-functionally to drive the adoption and implementation of technical methods within various teams and aid the firm in remaining at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and technological advances.
Working within the CIB Equities Data Tech team you will own buildout of large-scale analytics applications that process several terabytes of transaction and market data every day. We are growing the organization to meet the increasing needs of our business; this is an exciting time to join us a senior leader and drive modernization, cloud migration, quant / AI enablement across several programs in Equity Derivatives.
Job responsibilities
Leads multiple technology and process implementations across departments to achieve firmwide technology objectives
Directly manages multiple areas with strategic transactional focus
Provides leadership and high-level direction to teams while frequently overseeing employee populations across multiple platforms, divisions, and lines of business
Acts as the primary interface with senior leaders, stakeholders, and executives, driving consensus across competing objectives
Manages multiple stakeholders, complex projects, and large cross-product collaborations
Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Collaborate closely with Equity Derivatives Product and Quant Research team to manage Data Technology book of work and take full accountability of project delivery
Hire and retain talent, mentor technical leads/engineers and promote a culture of experimentation and strong delivery ethic.
Lead architecture and design conversations with technical leads across multiple parts of the wider Equities Technology organization.
Work with Production support and DevOps teams to establish and monitor SLAs, refine and execute resiliency and recovery plans
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience developing or leading large or cross-functional teams of technologists
Demonstrated prior experience influencing across highly matrixed, complex organizations and delivering value at scale
Experience leading complex projects supporting system design, testing, and operational stability
Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
Extensive practical cloud native experience
Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
Hands-on experience working as a developer on full stack ticker plant implementations in KDB+/q
Experience leading large globally distributed teams (25+ individuals) of engineers, technical leads and managers
Solid grounding in architecting and designing complex data applications involving both streaming and batch data pipelines
Strong domain knowledge in Equities Trading - market microstructure, pre-trade analytics, trading cost analysis
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Knowledge and experience working in Equity Derivatives Trading / Market data domains
Cloud computing for Data analytics - data lakes/lakehouse, distributed query engines and warehouses
Experience with implementation of data management solutions covering data quality, lineage and observability.
Automation of software delivery - unit/integration testing, Continuous Integration & Deployment, pipeline as code
Knowledge and experience of conventional and ML techniques for time series analytics, anomaly detection and NLP
Current or prior experience working as data engineer or data scientist leveraging python language & tools - pandas/polars, ray, dask, spark
