Description
Robert Half is looking for an experienced Medical Coder to join our clients team on a long-term contract basis. This is a fully remote role. This position offers an opportunity to work within the healthcare industry, ensuring accurate coding and billing processes to support patient care and financial operations. Ideal candidates will bring expertise in medical coding systems and a strong understanding of healthcare documentation.
Responsibilities:
Accurately assign diagnosis and procedure codes using industry-standard coding systems such as 3M and CPC-AS.
Review and audit medical charts and documentation to ensure compliance with billing and coding regulations.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify and validate coding information.
Utilize electronic medical record systems like Epic EMR and Allscripts to manage coding workflows.
Process claims and manage claim administration tasks to ensure timely reimbursement.
Conduct quality checks on coding and billing functions to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Generate detailed reports and charts to track coding accuracy and billing efficiency.
Assist in the administration of clinical trial operations by coding related documentation.
Apply knowledge of dental billing and claim processes where applicable.
Stay updated on coding standards, regulatory changes, and healthcare industry best practices.
Requirements
Certification in medical coding, such as CPC or equivalent, is required.
Proven experience in medical coding with proficiency in systems such as 3M and CPC-AS.
Experience with HGAC coding is a big plus.
Familiarity with electronic medical record systems, including Epic EMR and Allscripts.
Strong knowledge of diagnosis codes and billing procedures within healthcare settings.
Ability to audit charts and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
Experience in claim administration and reimbursement processes.
Knowledge of clinical trial documentation and dental billing practices.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
