Job Summary
The Experienced Information Technology (IT) Specialist will work in the IT Integration & Solutions unit to perform advanced, complex critical technical functions to support company operations in areas including but not limited to integrating all aspects of IT services of the IT Service Provider in support of all company users. They will provide professional level ownership and oversight of the company media center and provide line of business (LOB) IT for company engineering/standalone systems. The IT Specialist will independently perform company-specific IT projects to provide new capabilities, deployments, and services to enhance customer experience.
Essential Duties:
Responsible for all aspects of assigned tasks including professional level ownership and oversight of the company media center and related operations as well as providing line of business (LOB) information technology (IT) for company engineering/standalone systems. Integrate and perform project management of company standalone systems administered by IT platforms, review IT roadmaps, deployment plans, preventative maintenance and equipment lifecycle management plans, conduct reviews, and meet with the IT Services Provider. With little to no direction, document work and provide IT recommendations in a formal manner.
Stay informed of the evolving needs and demands of the LOB in order to propose IT solutions that meet those needs in an efficient and cost-effect manner. Provide input to management personnel on IT project and program objectives. Ensure IT Service Provider provisioning and support models are adequate for all company locations, including employees at remote worksites, teleworking, and core worksite.
Recognize and identify topics from area of expertise in which established information or methodology is inadequate, inconclusive or nonexistent and propose solutions. Track performance, provide reporting, produce metrics, and perform self-assessments.
Provide proactive IT leadership for IT Service Provider provisioning and support models and promote optimal IT user experience through coordination of IT resources through the IT Service Provider anticipating needs of the Government or end user and initiating actions to obtain concurrence and support for new work and participate in strategic planning.
Manage projects or initiatives that make use of new technological approaches to IT problems. Evaluate project results and prepare reports and recommendations based on these evaluations. Perform expediting, troubleshooting, and promotion of tools and/or initiatives to improve services or prevent problem recurrence.
Perform work planning for major projects, ensure resources are aligned, identify risk and mitigation plans, and have the leadership influence to carry out plans. Prepare cost and schedule estimates, and performance measures to meet project and schedule requirements. Actively monitor performance and initiate corrective actions. Responsible for timely execution of assigned budgets (e.g., media center budgets, purchases, and expenditures).
Serve as an IT technical expert or consultant to other departments or on standing or ad hoc committees.
Stay informed of the advancement of IT in area of expertise.
Mentor peers and subordinates in information technology area of expertise. Support and develop staff on executing high risk and standard operating procedures, working with the IT Service Provider.
Thoroughly understand the policies and procedures governing the IT activities of the Company. Administer Company IT and Cybersecurity policies and instructions and ensure alignment with IT Service Provider policies and instructions.
Provide input to management personnel on IT projects and programs. Develop cost/benefit analyses and return on investment business-case justifications for IT resources and costs.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of nine (9) years of professional business experience in IT, specifically with proven professional experience directly in NNPP IT operations.
Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Experience with technical, administrative, and quality assurance aspects of IT functions including inventory planning, hardware/software deployment, system functional requirements development, reporting, training, communications, and customer service, including oversight of IT-related improvement projects.
Experience with business administration/management of IT costs, including budgetary planning, written justification and funding requests for IT procurements, financial cost chargebacks for IT provider services, and technical approval of accounts and purchase order services and deliverables.
