JAMES PERSE IS HIRING A WEST COAST OPERATIONS MANAGER
OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
The Retail Operations Manager is responsible for providing support, analysis, and recommendations to assist in multi-store support and ensure operational efficiency at the field level. The ideal team member must be highly organized, an excellent problem solver, a creative and strategic thinker and demonstrate a strong understanding of the retail store environment. This role will play a significant part in driving the evolution of the store and customer experience leading store projects, key rollouts and training of process and technology, and leading the way forward for Operational Excellence in our retail environment. This role will partner with store leaders and corporate stakeholders to define and implement policy, procedure and practice that optimize retail operations and deliver seamless execution of operational and company-wide initiatives. A successful candidate must communicate effectively and work well with team members, colleagues in all departments, outside vendors and consultants, and the executive team. This role reports to the Head of Retail Operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Timely and purposeful execution of Retail Operations related activities - executing store projects, driving retail process and technology implementations, and additional store support projects
Partner with all corporate teams including Director of Openings & Activations, Visual Merchandising, Finance, Information Technology, Digital, Merchandising, Production, Planning, and Human Resources to ensure all projects are scoped and developed to meet the goals and objectives of all stakeholders
Managing store personnel to ensure all projects are staffed and executed to the needs of the project
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
Ensure that all Company compliance directives, inclusive of inter-store transfers, RTW, and client orders.
Ensure stock management is being executed in accordance to Company policies; coordinating with merchandising, warehouse, and store operations teams to ensure inventory alignment
Oversee the shipping and receiving lifecycle and maintain collaborative relationships with regional and corporate partners.
Partner with the Asset Protection department to reduce potential product loss.
Develop strategies and protocols to reduce shrink and inventory discrepancies
Oversee regular cycle counts and full inventory audits to maintain accuracy
Identify and resolve inventory variances
Train and support store teams on inventory management processes, best practices, and systems
Manage and report KPI's for inventory performance across the retail network
COMMUNICATIONS, TRAINING, WORKLOAD MANAGEMENT
Own execution of communication strategies in partnership with Operations leadership to optimize and streamline communication flow to and from stores
Develop and edit content and documents for field teams and corporate partners
Manage new workload management process including ownership of Store Master Calendar, Workload cadence and methodology in partnership with corporate teams, and development of supporting tools and processes with end goal of maximizing store teams' ability for flawless execution and driving sales
Facilitate store training initiatives based on business needs, process improvements, new rollouts, product knowledge, and store projects
Manage and evolve store incentives and contests in partnership with field leaders and Human Resources to drive strategies and profitability
Regular partnership with Field and Store Leaders to assess needs and provide recommendations for process improvement
Timely communication of store issues and needs with corporate partners while developing and implementing solutions
BUSINESS PROCESS
Continual learning and understanding of retail environment, store evolution, process enhancements and new technologies to support our brand vision and store team
Act as the conduit between field teams and store operational leaders to gather feedback and leverage learnings
Lead initiative to review and update current operating policies and procedures while consistently evaluating go-forward processes for continuous improvement
Train, execute, and evolve key reporting to measure our operational impact. Manage the implementation and on-going evolution of store reporting in close partnership with field teams and corporate partners
Manage Real Estate projects operational in partnership with store design and construction including store openings, pop-ups, sample sales, and other ad-hoc projects as needed
Optimize store processes to support omni-channel initiatives to maximize all channel productivity and profitability
As part of larger workload management responsibilities, regularly review and manage product movement methodology in close partnership with planning, merchandising, and field teams to reduce cost and maximize sales
Manage operational controllable expenses, creatively looking for ways to reduce operating expense as well as areas of key investment while maintaining our Brand integrity

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION
BA degree or equivalent experience, preferred.
EXPERIENCE
3+ years of retail and/or hospitality retail experience required
Self-starter with proven leadership skills
Experience in project management and retail/store operations
Excellent project management skills, including planning, execution and follow up skills
Strong communication skills (listening, written, verbal, facilitation) and the ability to interact with all levels of management
Understanding of various retail programs, technologies and KPI's
Ability to analyze data, and develop strategies to address opportunities
Strong analytical, conceptual, and technical skills (Excel, Access, Smartsheet, Zoom, PowerPoint, Adobe, Outlook)
Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities and ambiguity successfully
Must have strong sense of urgency with demonstrated ability to work independently, apply critical thinking skills to various scenarios and make effective well-thought-out decisions
Experience with process change and process implementation and innovative thinking
Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, meet deadlines and react to changing priorities in a challenging, fast-paced
environment to ensure successful completion of all project tasks
Anticipates potential challenges or obstacles, and timely identifies and implements solutions
Communicates effectively and professionally
Travel (including overnight stays) will be required as needed to support projects

PAY TRANSPARENCY
This position pays $90k annual base salary.
