At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling - to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today's mission and stay ahead of tomorrow's threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.
Join Raytheon's Satellite Ground Systems team, where we're building mission-critical software that powers real-time communication, surveillance, and defense systems for the intelligence community. In this DevSecOps Engineer role, you won't just support pipelines-you'll architect, build, and lead the transformation of how we deliver secure, scalable, and resilient software in support of national security.
You'll be responsible for developing new CI/CD pipelines from the ground up for applications, provisioning infrastructure in AWS GovCloud, and helping us migrate away from legacy tooling.
Due to the clearance requirements, this is an onsite position in our State College PA, Dulles VA, or Richardson TX offices.
What You'll Do
Design and build modern CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab for new, cloud-based products
Integrate security scans, static analysis, container scans, and approval gates into the pipeline from Day 1
Provision and manage AWS GovCloud infrastructure using Terraform and CloudFormation
Support secure and compliant deployment of services such as Aurora, Lambda, EKS, S3, and EC2
Manage system configurations across development, test, and operations environments
Work in parallel with legacy platform teams to eventually migrate workloads onto your pipelines
Collaborate with Java software developers, systems engineers, and other cross-functional teams
Deliver an MVP pipeline for the greenfield observability product by end of summer, with operational maturity by January
Provide technical leadership and independent initiative in a fast-moving Agile environment
What You'll Learn
Full mission lifecycle of satellite ground control systems
End-to-end DevSecOps deployment in a secure, classified AWS environment
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of prior relevant experience.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Experience building secure CI/CD pipelines from scratch (Jenkins, GitLab)
Experience with AWS GovCloud, including provisioning managed services (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience in DevSecOps toolchains including Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Gradle, Git, Bitbucket, Jira.
Experience with system configuration management across Dev/Test/Ops environments
Experience developing in a high-level programming language in a Linux OS environment.
Proficiency with infrastructure scripting (Python, Shell)
Knowledge of artifact versioning and secure artifact management practices
Agile development experience (Scrum, Kanban)
CompTIA Security+ certification
Java awareness (how it builds, deploys, runs-not necessarily hands-on development)
Familiarity with secure coding standards and deployment best practices
Master's degree in a STEM field
Experience supporting classified systems in a defense or intelligence setting
