Description

Our client is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee and enhance financial operations for their organization in Oak Ridge, Tennessee (position is remote). This position requires a skilled and detail-oriented individual to manage accounting functions, ensure compliance with regulations, and provide strategic financial insights. As a Long-term Contract position, it offers the opportunity to contribute to the organization's success while developing long-term financial strategies.

Responsibilities:

Supervise and manage general ledger accounting functions, including account reconciliations and month-end closings.

Develop and monitor cash flow forecasts to maintain financial stability.

Ensure compliance with tax regulations and standards specific to non-profit organizations.

Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results against expectations.

Prepare, review, and analyze financial records, statements, and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.

Oversee proper allocation and accounting of grant costs in accordance with 2 CFR 200 Cost Principles.

Lead the preparation of annual operating budgets and forecasts.

Support internal and external audits by ensuring financial data and practices meet established requirements.

Implement and update organizational policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls.

Train, supervise, and develop accounting staff to enhance team performance and foster growth.

Requirements

Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related fields.

Proficiency in Costpoint software for financial management.

Strong expertise in fund accounting and government contracts.

Knowledge of governmental and non-governmental accounting practices.

Demonstrated ability to manage cash flow forecasts and variance analysis.

Experience with year-end and quarter-end closings and audits.

Familiarity with accounting standards for grants and non-profit organizations.

Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage staff and collaborate across departments.

Nice to Have - CPA, MBA or CMA and experience with revenue recognition
