We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Omaha, NE in a full-time, permanent capacity. In this role, you will primarily manage accounts payable tasks, process invoices, and ensure accurate financial records for construction-related projects. This position requires strong organizational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles within the construction industry.

Responsibilities:

Review, verify, and process invoices from vendors and subcontractors to ensure accuracy.

Prepare and execute payments using various methods, including checks and wire transfers.

Perform three-way matching to confirm alignment between invoices, purchase orders, and delivery receipts.

Communicate with vendors to address discrepancies, resolve inquiries, and maintain accurate vendor records.

Assign expenses to appropriate job costs and general ledger accounts with precision.

Develop and maintain payment schedules while monitoring cash flow projections.

Reconcile accounts payable transactions and vendor statements on a regular basis.

Ensure compliance with company policies, contracts, and relevant tax regulations.

Requirements

A minimum of 3 years of experience in general ledger accounting ideally with an emphasis on prior experience with accounts payable.

Experience working within the Construction/Contracting industry focus a plus but not required.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, especially as they pertain to construction.

Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

Demonstrated experience with general ledger management, job costing, and invoice processing.

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective vendor management.

Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
