This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren Technical Center on a full-time basis
This role requires 25%-50% domestic and international travel.

WHY: The purpose of this role is to innovate and develop the process to enable Vehicle as a Tester (VaaT) on the new Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) 2.0 architecture.
WHAT: As a Manufacturing Engineer Process Lead, you will focus on the execution of the Vehicle as a Tester offline flash process, the smart power distribution system, and integrating SDV 2.0 electrical bill of operations used in manufacturing operations.
HOW: Supporting the plants to make it happen for our customers.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
Lead the creation and adoption of the manufacturing requirements to provide GM with a competitive advantage implementing VaaT.
Own the outcome of assigned projects and requirements from initial development through testing and validation, then into a production environment.
Speak fearlessly to adopt a library of process and product manufacturing requirements and enable 99.9% E-FTQ for VaaT.
Serve as innovation lead for the plant process team while implementing inhouse flash programming that enables Vehicle as a Tester.
Provide cost-effective solutions that are aligned with the business plan deployment for the Global Manufacturing Electrical & SDV 2.0 organization.
Operate with a solutioning-left mindset that embraces change, challenges the norm, and revolutionizes the flash process in manufacturing.
Build and foster relationships across various functions including software and services, manufacturing, and program management to optimize future innovations.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Hands-on experience in automation and controls engineering , including PLC programming, HMI development, and troubleshooting control systems within a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with Vehicle Electrical Systems - Hands-on experience working with automotive electrical systems, with a focus on manufacturing environments and system integration.
Understanding of Manufacturing & Automation Design - Exposure to automation-driven manufacturing processes , with an emphasis on improving efficiency and production flow.
Strong Problem-Solving Skills - Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical challenges , contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
Collaborative Approach - Experience working with cross-functional teams and communicating effectively across different departments to support project goals.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Engineering Expertise - Bachelor's degree in engineering with a strong foundation in manufacturing and product engineering processes , particularly in fast-paced technology launches .
Experience drafting and refining Statements of Requirements (SORs), ensuring clarity, technical accuracy, and alignment with manufacturing project objectives.
Advanced Testing & Validation - Experience with End-of-Line (EOL) testing, online/offline flashing processes, and software/services validation , ensuring seamless integration and performance.
Innovative Technology Development - Extensive knowledge in emerging technologies, hardware execution, and automation controls , driving efficiency and innovation in manufacturing environments.
Vehicle Systems & Architecture - Deep understanding of SDV 2.0 architecture, Vehicle as a Tester methodology, and electrical architecture , including ISO 14229, cybersecurity, and Ethernet protocols .
Automation & Robotics - Strong proficiency in automation, robotics, execution, and control systems , with expertise in automation software integration.
