We are looking for an experienced Attorney/Lawyer to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia, on a long-term contract basis. This role focuses on managing and overseeing construction contracts within the education industry, specifically at the university level. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in contract negotiation, administration, and compliance, ensuring all agreements align with organizational goals and legal standards. Apply today! Responsibilities:

Negotiate and draft comprehensive construction contracts, including Design/Build Acquisition, Cost Reimbursement, and Competitive Sealed Bidding.

Administer and monitor active construction contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.

Manage multi-million dollar agreements, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational objectives.

Perform analysis of fee proposals and provide recommendations based on contractual and financial considerations.

Collaborate with stakeholders to address contract-related inquiries and resolve disputes effectively.

Oversee contracts using various pricing models, including fixed-price and indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity agreements.

Ensure adherence to legal standards and organizational policies throughout the contract lifecycle.

Support procurement efforts by providing expertise in construction contract management.

Conduct regular reviews of contract performance metrics and propose necessary adjustments.

Provide guidance on contract strategy and risk mitigation to senior leadership.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Law, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Extensive experience in construction contract negotiation and administration.

Familiarity with various contract @types, including fixed-price, cost reimbursement, and indefinite quantity agreements.

Proven ability to manage and monitor large-scale, multi-million dollar contracts.

Strong analytical skills to evaluate fee proposals and contractual terms.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.

Knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks governing construction contracts.

Experience working in procurement or contracting roles within government or large organizations.
