CNC Programmer - Tool / Manufacturing Engineer

Reference #: 13250 General Dynamics Land Systems is a global leader in the design, development, production, support and sustainment of tracked and wheeled military equipment, specifically the Abrams Main Battle Tank and the Stryker Family of Wheeled Combat Vehicles.

In this position you will be responsible for supporting all production processes and creating new production processes. There will be opportunity for maintaining and or improving established processes as well as working on Proto@type work prior to production. Working to a set budget is critical. Must have extensive experience in CNC programming, modeling and CREO a plus.

Responsibilities:

Access / Navigate DNC software to create programs and load into CNC machines Access / Navigate Oracle to find tooling and components. Access / Navigate computer system to find part & assembly drawings Create a basic Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet with Basic Formulas Create a basic Microsoft Power Point presentation Communicate progress and obstacles via E-Mail The ability to write work instructions Develop, and establish manufacturing process, primarily machining Design work holding devices in 3D CAD Create 2D drawings from 3D models Select Tooling, Feeds, & Speeds for machining Aluminum, Armor, etc Write CNC Machine Tool Programs in a CAM system 2, 3, 4, 5, & 7 Axis machines Establish Assembly processes and procedures Implement continuous improvement Ideas Other duties as required

Systems used at GDLS Scranton include but not limited to:

PTC Creo 5 for 3D Modeling and 2D Drawings Predator for DNC Storage and Communication Oracle for Business Software Gibbs CAM for CNC Programming HMS CAPP for Work Instructions Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, & Outlook for documentation and communication

Position Requirements High School Diploma minimum. Associate degree in Engineering preferred 5-7 years experience in CNC machining 3-5 years experience in CNC programing working with metals. Computer skills, email, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, 3D CAD (Creo a plus), CAM (GibbsCam a plus) Experience with 3D modeling software; experience with Pro-E (Creo) is a plus (Preferred) Personal time management and organizational skills Able to perform problem solving and root cause analysis Good communication skills, oral, written, & visual Must be a US Person
