Position Summary:
This is a Release Manager role which will need to work closely with Application Development, TI, DevOps, Business partners etc. to facilitate releases of @type Integrated, BAU, Monthly, Re-platform etc. Person responsible will owning end to end Release for respective application or group of applications.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Development teams to understand the nature of the release as well as the value add created due to the respective change at the Business level
Manage release definition and scope negotiation. Actively work with Business representatives and technical teams to review priorities and come up with Release calendar for respective year
Work closely with Development and QA Teams to oversee the completion of code reviews, unit testing, release test plan, test scripts, automation, performance
Work closely with Deployment Management teams on the Component readiness items and weekend release execution plans
Coordinate code readiness and promotion through environments. Work with Code Promotion Team, Application Leads, and Infrastructure teams to verify release packages, code merges, code staging, code quality, and environment readiness throughout the complete life cycle of the release
Facilitate meetings with Business Leads, PMs, & IT leads, to track release status
Build out project milestones, evaluate dependencies, and schedule work to meet the release Go Live date
Manage the change control process. Perform risk and impact analysis of changes and consult all related teams. Communicate risks, mitigation plans, and action plans
Prepare and manage all release deployment artifacts for the successful implementation of the release in Production. Includes implementation plans, schedules, communications, conference calls, etc.
On need basis, run releases during weekends which requires coordination, engagement of stakeholders/participants, sending out status updates, facilitating triage in case for any issues
Ensure MRA 2 guidelines is followed End to End through the Release Life cycle
Ensure Enterprise Change Management (ECM) guidelines are followed End to End through the Release Life cycle
Manage post productions issues to closure likewise PIR (Post Implementation Reviews)
Required Qualifications:
3+ years in a Release Management role
10+ years of overall IT experience
Should be good in handling multiple set of applications at Domain or Tech Executive level
At times should be able to take up owning task and support management in achieving the goal
Should be mentoring New joiners and help in onboarding
Expected to identify Process gaps, Risk, and other Operation Excellence items
Proficient in working on ITSM Remedy Change Management tool
Expert knowledge in Enterprise JIRA tool and have expert level knowledge on JIRA life cycle in handling Release related tickets
Expert knowledge in Change Management and Change Governance activities likewise CAB approvals, Lead time to submit CRQ based on the Risk levels, PIR submission etc.
Agile Scrum knowledge/certification
ITIL Process knowledge /certification mandatory
Knowledge of CI/CD process and deployment tools like Ansible Tower, XL Release etc. will be added advantage
Proven success and accountability in leading and managing large scale application delivery
Strong ability to establish effective working relationships and contribute to a team environment
Confirmed experience and business acumen to partner and collaborate with multiple teams like TI partners, business stakeholders, other release managers for example during major integrated releases
Be extremely detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication
The ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of users and subject matter experts within all levels of the company
