Schedule 1st Shift: Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-4:30pm Friday hours may be possible on a required or voluntary basis Areas of Accountability All areas of accountability to be delivered with GRIT - our values of Generosity, Relationships, Integrity, and Teamwork High-Pressure Steel Grit Blasting Product and Blast Room Preparation Quality Inspection Essential Duties and Responsibilities Follow a set schedule in accordance with the provided production schedule Electronically track hours worked on each unit to better understand efficiencies and actual production costs Operate forklifts and/or telehandlers to organize units and move them in/out of Blast Room Load and/or hang units onto racks, fixtures, jigs, sawhorses, and/or stands Perform quality check on units for damage or abnormalities Mask and protect specified areas of units from abrasion with tape and/or paper Evenly apply caulking beads to seams of assembled units Prepare Blast Room equipment and set up blasting gun system with steel grit Use high-pressure blasting equipment to abrade metal surfaces to remove mill scale, paint, rust, and/or dirt Sweep Blast Room floor to reclaim steel grit into collection system; maintain overall cleanliness of Blast Room Monitor dust collector and fresh air systems and document readings and any required maintenance including filter changes Keep Lead & Shop Supervisor aware of any concerns or issues that arise Follow all company safety policies, practices, procedures, and improvement initiatives Comply with all safety and environmental regulatory compliance requirements Maintain positive relationships with others and assist in other areas, as requested Maintain regular and predictable on-site attendance Situations may arise that require employees to temporarily or permanently assume responsibility for tasks not specifically outlined in this job description.
