Job Title: Medical Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team in Morristown and Randolph. In this role, you will utilize Medent as the electronic medical record (EMR) system to maintain accurate patient histories and records, provide information on treatments and medications, and assist healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient office operations.

Responsibilities

Update and maintain accurate patient medical histories and records using Medent EMR.

Provide patients with information on treatments, medications, and post-procedure care.

Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, taking vital signs, and preparing patients for procedures.

Log medications, reconcile with the pharmacy, and update the computer system for MRI, CAT scan, and other requests.

Complete return to gym and sports notes, and manage scripts in the EMR.

Call facilities for STATs and prep patient charts ahead of scheduled appointments.

Handle calls for scheduling and rescheduling appointments.

Support fax machine operations between offices, adding files to patient records.

Schedule appointments face-to-face with patients when leaving from previous appointments.

Verify patient insurance coverage and collect copayments.

Process insurance claims, create invoices, and manage patient records while ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.

Essential Skills

Experience with Medent EMR.

Previous medical assistant experience.

Basic knowledge of insurance processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Certification as a medical assistant is preferred but not required.

Outdated or expired certification will be accepted.

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with shifts from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm or 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. One evening shift per week is expected, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. You will work one weekend approximately once a quarter. Rotation between Morristown and Randolph sites is expected. The role involves 40 hours per week, with the requirement to stay until the last patient leaves. You will interact with patients face-to-face most of the time, handling 20-40 patients a day depending on provider rotation. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
