We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Process Engineer to drive electrical reliability strategies across our global network of production sites. This role will serve as the subject matter expert for all things electrical-ensuring optimal performance, safety, and reliability of electrical systems across diverse geographies and business units. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with hands-on expertise, capable of developing and deploying standardized global and/or regional practices.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop & Implement Global Standards: Create and maintain global electrical reliability and maintenance standards, ensuring consistency across all facilities.
Assess and Audit Sites: Lead and support electrical reliability audits across all sites to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
Failure Analysis: Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions for major electrical failures or recurring issues.
Capital Planning Support: Provide technical input and risk assessments for major electrical infrastructure projects or upgrades.
Training & Development: Train regional/site teams on best practices, safety standards (e.g., NFPA 70E, IEC standards), and condition-based monitoring technologies.
Risk Mitigation: Identify systemic risks and develop mitigation strategies, including arc flash hazard assessments, backup power systems, and surge protection.
Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend new technologies for monitoring, diagnostics, and predictive maintenance.
KPI Management: Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to electrical reliability and uptime across the enterprise.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with local engineering, maintenance, safety, and operations teams, as well as corporate leadership.
Code Compliance: Ensure that new and existing equipment meets internal standards and national/local codes, including NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E.
Area Classification: Serve as the subject matter expert for periodic reviews and the development of new documents. Ensure electrical installations comply with Hazardous Area Classification and Design (HACD) requirements, following NFPA 497, NFPA 499, and NFPA 77.
Distribution System Studies: Maintain the site's electrical model and validate that equipment is not overloaded. Conduct periodic reviews and updates of arc flash studies and labeling in accordance with NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, and IEEE 141.
Testing and Commissioning: Test and new equipment and systems, ensuring proper operation.
Troubleshoot: advise plants on electrical issues, diagnose root cause, and implement corrective actions
Recommend Test Frequency: Ensure timely equipment testing and advise when testing intervals can be extended, in accordance with NFPA 70B.
Identify Legacy Equipment: Recognize failure modes for various equipment @types and understand their typical design life. Recommend replacement timelines and life extension techniques.
Implement Energized Work Training: Ensure worker safety during energized work, adhering to NFPA 70E and OSHA standards.
Validate Contractor Competency: Evaluate electrical maintenance contractor qualifications, including compliance with local licensing requirements and NETA certification.
Stipulate Test Requirements: Assess and approve testing scopes and techniques, considering the advantages and limitations of various methods. Follow NFPA 70B guidelines.
Review Test Results: Interpret test results and identify correlations with potential failure modes.
Record Keeping: Maintain historical records, track and analyze trends, and plan for equipment replacement before failure occurs in conjunction with EHS&S function.
Qualifications and Experience
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering; equivalent experience may also be considered.
5-10 years of experience with electrical equipment as well as their failure analysis and repair procedures.
NFPA 70E or equivalent international certifications
PMP certification desired but not required
Travel up to 25% of time, as required
Knowledge of related plant operational practices such as Process Safety Management and Mechanical Integrity / Quality Assurance.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to plan, prioritize, and implement multiple concurrent projects or activities.
Demonstrated ability to be proactive, self-motivated, and able to function independent of supervision.
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
Ability to evaluate existing electrical equipment and utilize engineering design processes to improve their safety and reliability needs.
Trained in use of power system software such as SKM.
