Job Title: Software Engineer (Wichita, KS)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with experience in embedded software design. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science, and a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in designing embedded software. This role involves direct work with target hardware, including lab bench equipment and other tools for debugging and analysis. Proficiency in C programming and Microsoft Office is required.

Responsibilities

Design and implement embedded C software for bare-metal microcontroller-based systems with an option for VHDL firmware for FPGA-based systems.

Research new components, technologies, and methods to incorporate into new designs.

Design software-based tools to support verification and manufacturing.

Build and troubleshoot hardware, including basic soldering, operation of test equipment, and daily work in both office and test lab environments.

Proto@type and execute test programs to verify compliance with applicable performance, regulatory, and quality requirements.

Create and document designs in required formats, including BOMs, ECOs, and work instructions.

Essential Skills

Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.

Minimum of 10 years of professional experience designing embedded software.

Proficiency in programming in C.

Must have experience designing safety-critical software, utilizing RTCA DO-178C, DO-254, or similar ARHS regulations.

Ability to work directly with target hardware, including lab bench equipment and other tools for debugging and analysis.

Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with C++, C#, or Python languages for a PC application software.

Experience programming in VHDL.

Experience with Design for Manufacture and Design for Test (DFM & DFT).

Experience designing or troubleshooting PCB system hardware.

Experience implementing low-level software to physical products such as toys, earbuds, digital cameras, thermostats, slot machines, drones, health monitors, cars, and spaceships.

Work Environment

The work environment is a Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM schedule in an engineering office. The role includes daily work in both office and test lab environments.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Wichita,KS.
