About the Department
Based out of our headquarters in the West Loop of Chicago, U.S. Finance is comprised of several teams of professionals that oversee all internal financial planning and analysis activity, economic policy and franchisee financial support for McDonald's USA, LLC. The various groups within the department work together to provide in-depth financial reporting for both the Company and its franchisees, preserve the internal control environment, and plan for the various business unit's capital, G&A and operating income goals. In addition, teams provide economic analysis on new business introductions such as menu, equipment, and operating procedures and manage the investment portfolio for assets related to Company owned restaurants.
About the Opportunity
US Finance is comprised of financial professionals who lead all aspects of financial activities, including real estate and development finance; financial planning and analysis; pricing, affordability, and digital strategy; national field finance; field finance; and economic policy for McDonald's USA, LLC.
This position offers a unique opportunity to support and gain exposure in the real estate and development area with a focus on reporting, analytics, projections, and annual development of the capital plan for McDonald's U.S. Business. The role offers an in-depth look into restaurant growth, reinvestment projects, and other capital initiatives including the research and strategic review related to expenditures across the entire scope of projects. The U.S. capital spend is significant, providing high visibility into Senior Leadership across multiple teams. The Finance Manager, U.S. Real Estate Capital Management is the influential data subject matter authority linked to all construction and real estate capital spend as well as a trusted partner when questions arise related to any capital scenario planning and/or special projects.
Duties
Develop annual Capital Plan followed by the analyses of results, recurring projections including tracking of spending trends and assessment of potential risks and opportunities to meeting Capital targets
Lead and oversee the aggregation of data from cross functional partners in order to analyze and provide big picture perspectives through the planning and quarterly projection process
Support strategic capital modeling through data analytics and stakeholder partnership to anticipate future U.S. Capital needs, provide insights and influence prioritization of strategic investments
Accountable for the appropriate roll up of capital information in order to provide organized, timely and accurate reporting and insights to key partners
Coordinate and influence efforts from U.S Restaurant Development teams located at MHQ and US Controller Group to provide timely insights for capital opportunities or pressures (policy changes, development progress, etc.)
Enable Capital stability and insights through influencing development processes and systems improvements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
CPA and / or MBA Preferred.
6+ years of Finance/Accounting experience.
FP&A experience highly preferred.
Experience using Alteryx, Oracle, and / or Hyperion preferred.
Executive-level communication skills and presence - ability to level-up details and identify what is important.
Track record of managing competing priorities, addressing roadblocks, and providing recommendations on a path forward.
Demonstrated ability to lead through people and desire to develop team talent.
Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail for high-value decisions.
Previous people management experience.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to anticipate customer needs while building quality cross-functional relationships
