How will you make an impact in this role?
As a member of the Credit & Fraud Risk Finance team, you will be dedicated to delivering fact-based, decision-driven and high-impact Net Loss Provision forecasts and credit-risk related insights. You will be challenged with designing and creating deep analytics by leveraging advanced methodologies in forecasting approaches. This role involves performing data analyses, modeling, synthesizing conclusions, communicating, and presenting recommendations to the key stakeholders and partners. The position is part of a highly talented team with strong intellectual curiosity and within a collaborative environment, interacting with and influencing partners across the Finance GSG, and CFR organizations at American Express.
In this position the candidate will have deep knowledge of Risk and Fraud Management, through evaluating strategic decisions, establishing profitability linkages between customer behaviors, fraud and credit provision and driving credit-related analytical insights to key stakeholders such as Risk, Collections, Marketing & Finance teams.
Decision Support & Business Analyses: Provide decision support and business analytics to improve risk and fraud management strategies and drive overall AXP growth.
Planning, Forecasting, & Reporting: Build financial forecasts under various scenarios for Net Loss Provision to aid in investment decisions.
Communicate results and highlight key drivers of change to better enable long-term planning.
Responsibilities:
Analyze portfolio/market trends and identify key drivers of forecasted performance
Develop and deploy advanced techniques for various business-use cases in Financial Planning
Enhance and redevelop forecasting models, as required, including data selection, validation, ongoing monitoring and governance, as well as the transition of modeling data to Cornerstone platform
Update model documentation submitted to internal validation teams and external regulators
Partner with various cross-functional teams, including Treasury, Corporate Planning, and Risk
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's or above degree in quantitative field such as mathematics or statistics
4-5 years of relevant work experience
Strong understanding of statistical/predictive models, data extraction and analytical techniques using complex financial databases
Experience using statistical software (preferably Python,LUMI) and manipulating large data sets for development of statistical/predictive models
Ability to break down complex ideas into understandable and actionable messages
Ability to present to and influence senior leaders, internal validation teams, and external regulators
Ability to provide thought leadership and creativity in solving challenging business problems
Qualifications
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
