Position Title:Warehouse Manager
Position @type:Full-time (40+ hours)
Schedule:Weekdays 8:00am to 4:00pm (occasional evening or weekend hours may be required)
Pay scale: $52,000 Annual Salary (+ benefits*)
Reports to:Director of Operations
Supervisory Responsibilities:Responsible for oversight of full and part time employees and routine oversight of volunteers assisting in the warehouse
Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience and certification in related field such as project management required
Experience working in a fast-paced production environment with 3 - 5 years warehouse and/or supervisory experience
Two years job experience in food industry

Must adhere to Food Bank of the Albemarle's Drug and Alcohol Policy
Must authorize a North Carolina Criminal Record Check and Motor Vehicle Report
Must adhere to and champion Food Bank of the Albemarle's Safety Policies
Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook, and able to work in a Microsoft 365 environment
Principal Activities
Working under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Warehouse Manager is responsible for direct oversight of warehouse operations, fleet operations, and volunteer management at the main warehouse. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
WAREHOUSE:
Ensure/Verify all safety and sanitation rules are followed in compliance with Feeding America, AIB, and Food Bank of the Albemarle operating guidelines, regulations and policies
Ensure that all daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning, maintenance, and temperature logs are current and accurate
Manage activities in a cost-effective manner
Lead morning safety meetings
Monitor Daily/Weekly/Monthly sanitation and pest control checklists for completion - Verify completion to standard.
Working with the Director of Operations, provide oversight, communication and coordination for Facility preventive and corrective maintenance
Prior to arrival and acceptance of any load, verify all Bills of Lading and Invoices are accurate and available to receiving staff for verification during delivery
Working with the Warehouse Lead, verify optimal rotation of all stock in coolers, freezers and on warehouse floor
PERSONNEL:
Lead and communicate goals, team objectives and priorities
Prepare daily work assignments for warehouse personnel
Assign personal to complete receiving and associated stock functions (daily)
Assign personal to complete order fulfillment/pull functions (daily)
Assign personal to complete custodial/sanitation and pest control functions (daily)
Assign personal to complete inventory support functions (as needed)
Approve and ensure timely and accurate employee timecards
Perform periodic checks of employee adherence to FBA Operating Standards and provide corrective guidance when necessary
Participate in team member selection, hiring and training; reviews performance and develops team member retention strategies
TRAINING:
Attend food safety classes, acquire, and maintain ServSafe and HACCP certification
Pursue, acquire and maintain forklift certification
Determine safety, equipment, professional development, and other training needs of transportation and warehouse staff
Develop, coordinate, and schedule completion of safety and health standards training for all staff
Continually monitor and evaluate the department and staff. Provide coaching to build skills to improve performance and discipline when necessary, to meet the expectations of the organization
Coordinate and deliver new employee training to ensure adequate understanding of tasking and performance requirements
LOGISTICS:
Oversee and verify fleet and equipment maintenance
Working with the Transportation Lead, verify and report key performance indicators related to the Food Bank transportation fleet to include, but not limited to on-time delivery tracking, driver errors, and safety/damage controls
Focus on error reductions throughout the Distribution Center
Manage logistics relationship with agencies to ensure compliance with Feeding America, AIB and Food Bank of the Albemarle operating guidelines, regulations, and policies
Supervise all activities ensuring that the goals and objectives for each program is achieved
Ensure customer satisfaction for all product donors
INVENTORY CONTROL:
Verify that warehouse team maintains inventory control, including rotation of product, receiving and distribution completed daily, proper tagging, and accurate monthly inventory counts
Manage product recovery function to guarantee maximum product into the area, compliance of recovered goods with external regulatory bodies, and good work environment for employed and volunteer staff in product recovery
Complete and verify all CERES-related reporting associated with warehouse operations
CSFP:
Working with the Warehouse Lead, oversee/coordinate all warehouse activities related to CSFP Packing
Working with the Warehouse Lead, oversee/coordinate staging and inventory segregation of received CSFP Product
OTHER:
Serve as the Food Safety Administrator for the organization
Standing member of the Food Safety Committee
Standing member of the Food Recall Committee and management team
Standing member of the Safety Committee
Other related duties as assigned
