Summary

The Private Equity Transactions Assistant supports the paralegals and/or attorneys by maintaining and organizing files, preparing documents, updating, and maintaining databases, preparing closing books, obtaining information for internal and external sources, and performing other administrative tasks.

Location

This position can sit in our Chicago office and offers a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

Organize documents for attorney review.

Research public records using internal and public websites.

Assist with preparing binders, preparing closing books, making

copies, entering data, and maintaining files.

Perform database research and data entry.

Assist with corporate closings.

Obtain documents and other information from governmental agencies or

public agencies.

Obtain information from accounting, timekeeping, and attorneys for

audit letter responses.

Assist paralegals and attorneys with mailings and filings.

Assist with 83b elections.

Billing and invoice review/ processing.

Signature packets via DocuSign and SimplyAgree.

Other duties.

Desired Skills

Demonstrated basic level of proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and database experience. Office experience in a law firm environment supporting paralegals and/or attorneys preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required to interact with paralegals, attorneys, and clients on a regular basis. Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills necessary to manage volumes of documents, binders, letter, charts, etc. Must have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines.

Minimum Education

High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Education

Bachelor\'s Degree.

Certificates

Paralegal certificate preferred.

Minimum

Years of Experience

1 year of demonstrated success working in a fast-paced environment.

at a computer for extended periods of time, including on-screen reading and typing; (b) participating in digital/virtual conference calls; (c) participating in meetings as needed.

Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands in a

fast-paced environment.

Perform all other duties, tasks or projects as assigned.

Physical Demands

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Work Environment

The individual selected for this position may have the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement comprised of remote and in-office work, the requirement for which will be determined in coordination with the hiring manager or supervisor and may be modified in the firm\'s discretion in the future.
