The VP, Finance Process Transformation is a newly developed role responsible for driving changes in operations and finance functions within the organization. The role focuses on optimizing and modernizing financial and operational processes, leveraging technology to improve efficiency, and ensuring that these changes align with broader business objectives. The person in the role will work closely with the digital finance transformation team, as well as partner with business leaders to drive process improvements.
Key responsibilities
Process Transformation Strategy:
Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive process transformation strategy
Identify and prioritize areas for process improvement, cost savings, and operational efficiency, ensuring alignment with the companys overall strategic goals.
Collaborate with senior leadership to define the roadmap for process transformation and ensure the vision is clearly communicated to the organization.
Technology and Automation:
Champion the adoption and implementation of financial technologies to automate and streamline processes.
Work closely with IT and digital transformation teams to integrate new tools and platforms into the finance ecosystem.
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance in automated financial systems and reporting.
Project Management and Execution:
Lead and manage cross-functional teams to implement process changes and new technologies, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, status reports, and documentation to track progress and outcomes.
Oversee the training and development of finance teams to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and systems.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by regularly evaluating the effectiveness of implemented processes, systems, and controls.
Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the success of transformation efforts and make data-driven adjustments as necessary.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance department, encouraging innovation and problem-solving.
Change Management:
Manage change, ensuring smooth transitions during the implementation of new processes or systems.
Develop and execute change management strategies to gain buy-in from stakeholders and minimize resistance to new initiatives.
Provide leadership and guidance to teams throughout the transformation journey, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Stakeholder Communication:
Act as the primary point of contact for all transformation-related matters, communicating progress, challenges, and successes to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key business units, including operations, IT, and HR, to ensure alignment and collaboration.
Key Requirements:
Education & Certifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in finance and operations, with at least 5 years in process improvement, finance transformation, or Finance project management roles.
Experience leading large-scale process re-engineering or automation projects.
Proven track record of driving technology adoption and process optimization in a financial @context.
Skills & Competencies:
Expertise in process design, workflow analysis, and performance metrics.
Experience with business process management (BPM), robotic process automation (RPA), and other process optimization technologies.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to interact with senior executives and key stakeholders.
Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems and think strategically.
