The Electro Optical Infrared Systems (EOIS) line of business within DRS has locations in Dallas and Austin, TX, Melbourne, FL, and Cypress, CA. EOIS develops, manufactures, and supports infrared and electro-optical solutions for soldiers, ground vehicles and airborne platforms. Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

Performs moderately complex functions in the process design, fabrication, modification and/or evaluation of Production Operations. May prepare complicated plans, conduct / support various Engineering studies, provide analysis or tests in the development of Production operations. May assign work to drafters and/or technicians and provide guidance to lower level engineers. Troubleshoot hardware for failure analysis, generate associated reports, and implement corrective actions. Participate in Change Control Board, Material Review Board, and Failure Review Board activities as a key stakeholder. Responsibilities are diverse in scope where analysis of data or situations requires sound judgment. General guidance given on new assignments as needed. Develop manufacturing processes, process plans, assembly instructions, manufacturing flows, and capacity plans. Review detail designs for manufacturability and producibility. Design and support fabrication of assembly aids and tooling. Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in an applicable engineering field with 5+ years applicable engineering experience (or equivalent combination of education/training and experience). Experience with SolidWorks and/or Creo Basic understanding of GD&T and Drawing standards Basic understanding of Circuit Card Assembly fabrication a plus. Specialties may include manufacturing, production, industrial, tooling, testing, processing, and robotics. Experience with Mil Spec hardware, Electronics and/or Electro-Optical equipment assembly and testing is desired (not required). Lean / Six Sigma training is strongly desired (not required) Must work well both independently and within a diverse team environment.

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
