Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Newport, New Hampshire. This is a long-term contract position, ideal for someone with a strong background in managing invoices and processing payments efficiently. If you thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, this opportunity is perfect for you.

Responsibilities:

Process and verify a high volume of invoices with accuracy and attention to detail.

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.

Maintain organized records of all accounts payable transactions for audit and reporting purposes.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper coding and allocation of expenses.

Monitor payment schedules to ensure timely payments to vendors.

Utilize Microsoft Excel to prepare reports and track financial data.

Respond promptly to vendor inquiries and provide excellent customer service.

Assist in month-end closing processes related to accounts payable.

Identify opportunities to enhance accounts payable processes and implement improvements where applicable. Requirements - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with formulas and data organization.

Demonstrated experience in accounts payable, including high-volume invoice processing.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Familiarity with financial systems and accounting software.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Prior experience in a fast-paced work environment is highly desirable.
