We're looking for a Vice President of Digital and Restaurant Technology to lead the strategy, development, and performance of our digital platforms and in-Shack technologies. This is a pivotal role responsible for scaling Shake Shack's digital guest experience and restaurant technology across our growing footprint.
You'll lead engineering and delivery for our mobile app, web ordering, kiosks, POS, KDS, loyalty , marketing , and digital analytics platform s , and in-restaurant systems , driving digital growth, guest engagement, and operational efficiency. This is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership role reporting to the Chief Information and Technology Officer. This role is based out of our New York Support Center or our Atlanta Support Center (Hybrid).
What You'll Do:
Engineering Leadership & Execution
Lead and grow a high-performing engineering organization across digital and restaurant technology, spanning software development, Dev Sec Ops , QA, e nterprise i ntegration and support.
Set engineering strategy, frameworks, and technical vision to enable speed, scale, and security across all platforms.
Champion engineering excellence, team accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement with measurable outcomes.
Build a robust SDLC, platform architecture, and data foundation that supports innovation and scale.
POS, KDS, and In-Shack Technology Ownership
Own the strategy, delivery, and support model for core restaurant technologies including POS, KDS, Payment, and kitchen automation.
Drive standardization, scalability, and seamless integration of restaurant systems across new and existing Shacks.
Partner closely with Operations, Training, Finance, and Facilities to pilot and deploy new in-store technology that improves throughput, accuracy, and team workflows.
Monitor and manage system reliability, uptime, and field support effectiveness with clear KPIs.
Guest-Facing Digital Experience
Oversee the engineering , support, and technical delivery of our guest-facing digital channels - mobile app, web ordering, and in-Shack kiosks.
Deliver intuitive, responsive, and delightful experiences that drive conversion, digital mix, and guest satisfaction.
Collaborate with Product, Design, and Marketing teams to bring to life new features, campaigns, and enhancements.
Prioritize stability, speed, accessibility, and consistency across all guest touchpoints.
Loyalty, Personalization & CRM Technology
Partner with cross-functional leaders to evolve Shake Shack's loyalty and personalization platform.
Architect and operationalize the technology stack supporting offers, engagement journeys, segmentation, analytics, and real-time interactions.
Drive integrations across CRM, CDP, and marketing systems to deliver a data-rich, personalized guest experience.
? Ensure compliance with evolving privacy , accessibility, security, fraud, and data protection regulations and best practices.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Serve as a strategic business partner to Product, Operations, and Marketing.
Lead governance and planning processes across digital and restaurant technology initiatives.
Represent the voice of technology at the enterprise level, influencing roadmaps, investment decisions, and brand strategy.
What You'll Bring:
1 5 + years of experience in technology leadership roles with deep expertise in QSR, retail, or hospitality technology.
Proven track record in leading engineering organizations and scaling digital products and in-store technologies.
Deep understanding of restaurant tech stack: POS, KDS, kiosk, back office, back of house, kitchen automation, and mobile/web ordering platforms.
Experience owning end-to-end digital platforms with strong delivery, scale, support, and optimization capabilities.
Excellent cross-functional leadership and executive presence , where you thrive in fast-paced, highly collaborative environments.
