About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Operations Manager as part as brokerage Credit Monitoring and Reporting - Primary Credit Line team within Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) Operations. This team is responsible for executing key processes related to the risk management of WIM's securities-based loan portfolios, such as out of margin monitoring and collateral liquidations.
Additionally, this team is responsible for key non-lending related processes such as monitoring client trading activity for regulatory compliance, monitoring and collecting miscellaneous account debits, and reviewing insufficient funds transactions related to client-initiated banking transactions. In this role, you will:
Manage and develop one or more specialized customer service and operations functional teams within Operations area with complex and risk in functional area
Develop strategies to improve staffing processes, ensure specialized functions meet regulatory guidelines in support of risk management and compliance
Engage stakeholders and internal partners associated within the Operations area
Work independently on moderately complex issues and projects
Identify opportunities for process improvement and risk control development and escalates issues to more experienced management
Provide training, performance, evaluation and coaching of less experienced team
Make decisions and resolve issues regarding resources, objectives and operations of functional area and team to meet business objectives
Interpret and develop policies and procedures for operation functions with low to moderate complexity within scope of responsibility
Provide responsibility for budget and financial performance
Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
Lead team to achieve objectives
Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Operations
Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
2+ years of leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
4+ years of experience with broker-dealer securities transactions or comprehensive review
4+ years of credit risk mitigation and/or quality control experience
Solid budget and financial management skills, including resource management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
Ability to meet stringent deadlines
Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to proactively identify and execute actions to improve business processes
Ability to develop innovative approaches to complex business issues with the ability to clearly express ideas and concepts to associates and other stakeholders
Ability to develop and utilize key measurements to provide oversight of effective business process execution
Ability to assess complex situations and act quickly to resolve
Successful completion and registration of FINRA Series 99 or equivalents
Job Expectations
Registration for FINRA Series 99 must be completed within 120 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire
Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position
