Summary
The Administrative Assistant directly reports to the Associate Director of Admissions and primarily serves as the office receptionist, delivering exceptional customer service to office visitors, applicants, students, and the general public. Additionally, this individual will provide support to the staff as needed in the execution of all functions and responsibilities associated with the Office of Admissions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Create and maintain a customer service environment in the Office of Admissions with both external constituents (prospective students, applicants, parents, and interviewers) and internal colleagues (Office of Admissions team members as well as MWU faculty, staff, and students).
Provide primary telephone and reception support for the Office of Admissions to include extensive telephone interaction with prospective students.
Distribute office mail and triage General Admissions email messages.
Perform data entry and maintain admissions information using Slate and internal MWU systems.
Facilitating the correspondence flow with prospective students and applicants.
Assist with the coordination of the daily interview process and the scheduling of advising appointments, interview days, virtual and in-person info sessions and tours.
Place orders to maintain all office supplies and food inventory for interview days and events.
Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED required with at least 1-2 years administrative support experience. One year certificate from a college or technical school and/or associate degree with 3-5 years of relevant work experience desired. Experience working in a team environment and providing strong customer service, as well as possessing excellent written and verbal communication skills is essential.
Computer Skills
Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook). Slate experience preferred.
Reasoning Ability
Intermediate skills: Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
