Job Summary
The Vice President of Regional Corporate Finance oversees the provision of financial support to executive leadership that oversees Medicaid Markets and/or Specialty Products entities by leading Finance teams that support Market and/or Specialty Products leadership teams. Ensures that finance related work is completed that supports both the needs of the businesses supported and the related enterprise expectations. Ensures that Finance teams are partnering to provide actionable insights to the businesses supported that will help them meet contractual obligations and improve financial performance.
Essential Functions
Collaborates and partners with the Corporate Accounting, FP&A, and the Actuarial Services department to ensure the timely dissemination of financial information, including but not limited to financial statements, annual business plans, as well as regulatory and statutory reporting. Ensures that teams are actively engaged in the monthly, quarterly and annual close process. Provides support for audits.
Engages in and leads others in active engagement with market leaders to provide actionable insights about the drivers of financial performance. Leads efforts to align tools and resources to ensure that the team is providing the needed insights.
Ensures that the Finance teams provide oversight, direction and monitoring of cost containment (revenue enhancement initiatives) for the businesses supported.
Mentors and guides next level leaders and regularly communicates priorities and required deliverables to the team to ensure alignment and that value is delivered to the businesses supported.
Ensures the provision of expert financial insights to the businesses supported related to new business opportunities and re-procurements.
Ensures staff effectiveness - works with next level leaders to assess the competencies, capabilities and job levels of associates participating in the provision of financial support. Provides guidance to next level leaders in implementing measures to develop teams and manage performance.
Oversees effective development and engagement activities ensuring that associates have clear vision to career paths and an avenue for input into the things that keep them engaged as associates. Works towards enhancing associate experience to ensure retention and commitment.
Ensures that new business ventures receive highly effective financial support, both pre and post go-live.
Ensures provision of effective financial support for supported businesses in the development, approval and finalization of annual operating budgets. Includes oversight of revenue forecasting and projections for medical and administrative costs.
Education/Experience
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Business related field.
10 or more years progressively responsible financial managerial experience; five (5) years healthcare management experience; previous experience in government contracted health plans.
Other Skills:
Experience managing multi-level finance teams preferred.
Exemplary leadership skills required with the ability to inspire teams toward a high level of engagement and performance.
Expert level operating knowledge of healthcare financials in a government contracted insurance environment.
The ability to translate organizational business priorities into actionable insights for both Finance team members and supported business leaders
Expert communication and collaboration skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization, including executive leadership, peer leaders, next level leaders and staff.
